FIIFI KWETEY,THE MAN FOR THE NDC GENERAL SECRETARY POSITION FOR SMOOTH VICTORY 2024. There are three kind of history. The first is what really happened and that is forever lost. The second is what most people thought happened, and we can recover that with assiduous effort. The third is what the people in power wanted the future to think happened and that is 90 percent of the history in books. PNDC was a military regime that induced civilians to participate in governance. Its policies reflected a revolutionary government that was pragmatic in its approach. The economic objectives of the PNDC were to halt the economic decay, stabilise the economy and stimulate economic growth. Politically, its goal was to establish structures that would effectively allow the people to express their political will. Most significantly, the PNDC, carrying with it the spirit of the June 4, 1979 Uprising, brought a change in the people’s attitude from a 'government will provide' position to being proactive in nation-building. When we shifted from the military regime to democratic period, ndc was formed out,to maintain the ideals of the PNDC. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) which is a social democratic political party was founded by former president Jerry John Rawlings, who was then Head of State from 1981 to 1993 under PNDC and democratically elected President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected President, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Jerry John Rawlings' second term ended in 2001. He laid a solid foundation for us hence that true principles in us. Time has come for us to reflect about the future of our dear party and the leadership it deserve. Those with that true principles of that party needs to be put in the right positions to bring back the Hope's of Ghanaians. Fiifi Kwetey as a general secretary will bring back the need Hope's of truth and accountability back to the party. Frederick Donalson at his sermon at Westminster Abbey in 1925 said,The seven(7) deadly sins are: 1. Wealth without work. 2. Pleasure without conscience. 3. Knowledge without character. 4. Commerce without morality. 5. Science without humanity. 6. Worship without sacrifice. 7. Politics without principle. Let us dwell on politics without principle which is very dangerous for any person voted into political office. A person voted in party position must be ready to serve and Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey is ever ready to serve to his best of abilities and capabilities. John Quincy Adams, a President of United States and son of another President once said, "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone." Deep! British Prime Minister Benjamin Disreali was thinking about principle when he said, " When men are pure, laws are useless, when men are corrupt, laws are broken". To be fair, great men are not all aligned on the same side on principle. Reflect on these statements and confess to yourself where you stand. A few years ago, I met a friend of mine at Ho,June four rally in victory park precisely. He said enthusiastically, "Landlord!, Landlord!, some of us are very excited by the honesty you are bringing into our politics". Then his phone rang and he stepped to the side for minutes conversation. When he returned, he apologized that he had to leave and asked me to walk him to his car. When we were alone, he said, "You know what your problem is? The current crop of ndc leadership doesn't like the bitter truth. Reflect on this a bit and consider how it affects ndc/Ghana.
