Stomach ulcers are sores that develop in the lining of the stomach.
Some signs and symptoms of stomach ulcers are
1. Epigastric pain
2. Belching or bloating
3. Abdominal pains
4. Nausea and vomiting
5. Heart burns
6. Abdominal tenderness
7. Fatigue
Some foods can worsen the symptoms of stomach ulcers which you need to avoid. Some of such foods are
Reduce your intake of carbonated drinks.
Stay away from foods that contain a lot of gas, especially if it triggers your ulcer.
Stay away from spicy foods
Don’t smoke/Stop smoking
Moderate/cut your alcohol intake
Taking oranges or fresh tomatoes, especially on an empty stomach, can worsen it.
Reduce your milk intake, take yoghurts instead as it contains probiotics that are good for your stomach.
Chocolate affects certain people with ulcers. If it makes you have stomach discomfort, cut it till your ulcer heals properly.
Use Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Diclofenac only when your healthcare provider prescribes such for you as they can worsen stomach ulcers. And make sure you eat first.
