The National Fire Service in a safety week sensitization program has visited Ashaiman for an inspection on the third day of the program. The Chief Fire Officer for Tema Metro, ACFO 1 Doris Lamptey has said what they were looking for is to see to it that companies, institutions and individuals in Ashaiman have the necessary equipment needed to vert any fire outbreak. She said during the inspection, what they were looking out for is the ability to have access to a fire service certificate which allows you to work. She gave an account of what they saw during the inspection which does not grant the safetyness of customers in an interview with the media. She cautioned the companies by giving them 24 hours to make sure they have the necessary equipments needed in fire safetyness . ACFO 1 says the LI 1724 which gives access to the fire service to do their work, many do not go according to and that they will make sure the public or companies will abide by it. She rated the inspection in Ashaiman 70% which is on point and 30% negligence. She later cautioned the public to to abide by the laws of the fire service and that the fire service is going make sure LI 1724 will be effective and anyone who falls victim of not abiding by the laws will face prosecution or dealt with drastically. Speaking with the media is a beneficiary, Alhaji Hakeem Haruna has said the education from the fire service has made him realized where he falls short and advised the public to always give their support to fire service and to embrace them whenever they come around especially property owners.
