RTU women show supremacy as they clinched Tamale Mayor's Cup

Real Tamale United's women have won the female category of the Northern Regional Volleyball Association Mayor's 2023.
The Tamale based volleyball club went unbeaten throughout the tournament to top the table in the round ribbon competition (All play all) to show their superiority in northern volleyball.
RTU women who are the oldest women's volleyball club in northern Ghana started their campaign with a two straight set victory over Yoo ladies from Savelugu before beating bitterest rivals Eagles Volleyball Club and a walk over victory over Safe Sets Volleyball Club.
Captain of the side, Adams Amatu attributed their victory to hardwork and tactical discipline from she and her teammates before and during the competition.
She explained that they have the best players and an equally best defense in the northern region coupled with very well experienced players which gave them they success.
She added that "We knew we were going to win but it wasn't going to be easy so we worked tirelessly towards this and by God's grace we've won the ultimate."
She promised that RTU women will monopolize the competition that no other club will get a chance to win it including the Minister's Cup.
By their victory, they have qualified alongside Eagles Volleyball women to represent the northern zone A in the Northern Regional Minister's Cup scheduled for 6th of March, 2023.
It is the first time the Northern Region experienced such a unifying and development-oriented competition to unearth and develop volleyball talents in the region and the executives have promised to do more to create jobs through the volleyball game.
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.
It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964 but first played in December 1895.
